The best part is: to get all this, you don't have install anything or purchase any complex systems; all you need is an Endotherm thermometer. Simply place the Endotherm in any cooler, display case, walk-in refrigerator or freezer and it measures the temperature of the food items inside, instead of the air. By cooling them at their ideal storage temperatures, the food items remain fresh longer—only a few degrees too high or too low can mean a difference of up to three days. Varying temperatures caused by air circulation, faulty equipment, frequent opening and closing, and other factors make for warm and cold areas (cold and colder areas, really) throughout larger units. Recognizing these areas using the Endotherm enables the employee to place certain foods in colder or warmer areas according to their needs.

This principle also means safer food. Though many of the instances when meals are sent back occur because the diner is too finicky, the legitimate instances can be costly and embarrassing. The Endotherm reduces the risk of cross-contamination, prevents freezer burn, and can identify improperly working equipment. It was recently tested next to a leading infrared laser probe and produced the same results within a half a degree.
